RUG CLEANING

Carillon's rug washing plant was the first in the area and continues to provide the finest in quality and service. Carillon knows the rug cleaning business and does it right. Dusting, wringing and gas drying are all important steps often overlooked by less experienced operators.

Steps to proper rug cleaning:

1. Run rug through our duster.

The vibrating action of Carillon's duster removes deeply imbedded soil, sand and other loose material. This is a critical first step in a through rug cleaning process.

       

2. Hand wash rug.

Rugs are hand washed with a special neutral Ph cleanser and thoroughly rinsed with clear, clean water until no residue remains. Special care is given to antique Orientals and silk rugs.

     

3. Run rug through the wringer.

An automated wringer gently squeezes the major portion of the water from your valuable rug. This is a "must" in the professional cleaning of fine rugs.

 

4. Hang rugs in the drying room.

Rapid drying (6 to 8 hours) is afforded by Carillon's gas heated drying room. Rugs are hung to dry completely under optimum conditions, avoiding the mildew accumulation possible with the slower (2-3 days) air drying process.

5. Hand clean the fringe.

After drying, the rugs are vacuumed and fringes are treated by hand.
